Arezzo, June 12, 2025 – “Full waste bins: Is Arezzo taking on the plant problems of other provinces?”. The statement by the municipal councilors of Scelgo Arezzo Marco Donati and Valentina Sileno

"Following some disruptions related to the waste collection service in via Lorenzo De Giudici and in other areas of the city and after our report, we learned that some possible inconveniences could have arisen from plant problems that occurred outside the Municipality of Arezzo and reverberated on the delivery to the San Zeno plant. All this not only worries us but pushes us to ask the Ghinelli administration again to verify with the manager some critical issues in the collection service. In the recent City Council, we were not convinced by the response of the councilor Sacchetti to the questioning with which we highlighted various problems.

We know well that a reorganization is underway and that the Municipality of Arezzo is behind in achieving the objectives related to separate waste collection. At the same time, we cannot fail to receive legitimate complaints from users. We recall that the territory cannot tolerate the presence of the waste treatment plant, that citizens pay a higher Tari than in other areas of Tuscany, that the inconveniences related to bad smells have not yet been resolved and clarified”.
